About Us
My husband Denis and I purchased an established 'cut flower' farm 17 years ago. Unfortunately, allergies as well as an aversion to the use of pesticides, made growing flowers impossible. We have, over the years, changed our small holding to become an organic mixed farm. Every day presents a new challenge, a new learning experience and some days a new frustration! But the sight of the first calf and the taste of the first tomato, make it all worthwhile, in fact special. In the past decade we have taught ourselves the skills necessary to take advantage of the bountiful harvest from our garden and our animals. Canning, preserving and home dairying are skills that I learned through trial and error, (mostly error!!).
Now cheese, working with milk and my little cows, have become passions. A few years ago, a stroke suddenly changed my life from that of a driven career person, who farmed on the side to being here full-time. This farm, with our animals has helped to heal me and to give me a new sense of worth. I hope that as you browse through our web site you will see why.
